INVESTMENT TAX INCENTIVE : INVESTMENT TAX
INVESTMENT TAX INCENTIVE : SOUND MIND INVESTING : CHINA INVESTMENT STRATEGY.
Investment Tax Incentive
- A thing that motivates or encourages one to do something
- A payment or concession to stimulate greater output or investment
- a positive motivational influence
- In economics and sociology, an incentive is any factor (financial or non-financial) that enables or motivates a particular course of action, or counts as a reason for preferring one choice to the alternatives. It is an expectation that encourages people to behave in a certain way.
- bonus: an additional payment (or other remuneration) to employees as a means of increasing output
Price the Polluters Rally - Climate Action Now
Getup! organised a rally on Saturday morning 12 March 2011, in support of the Gillard Government's announcement for pricing carbon from July 1st 2012, outside the Prime Ministerial offices in Treasury Place. The rally was organised to counter a rally by climate deniers and those opposed to a carbon price outside Julia Gillard's electoral office.
The numbers tell the story: an estimated 8000 in support of a carbon price, 200 against. Tony Abbott has appealed for a tax revolt, but the one thing we need in Australia to move forward on acting on climate change is a carbon price to be set. This will provide the certainty to drive business investment in carbon pollution reduction.
A carbon price can start relatively low and progressively increase to drive the change in business investment required. The irony is that the Labor Government is proposing a market based mechanism to ultimately set the carbon price while the opposition policies for carbon reduction involve huge subsidies from general revenue as incentives to reduce the worst polluters to change behaviour. Opposition policies can not easily ramp up to increase carbon pollution reduction.
Treasury Place was full of people with many spilling in to the Treasury Gardens with some street theatre.

Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) will visited FuelCell Energy in Torrington to unveil his fuel cell plan to power the creation of new, 21st-century clean energy jobs for Connecticut.
Dodd’s fuel cell plan aims to jump start Connecticut’s fuel cell industry by increasing the investment tax credit for fuel cells, setting goals for residential use, and providing incentives to manufacturers and consumers to use fuel cells.
Dodd toured the facility with FuelCell Energy’s Chief Executive Officer Daniel Brdar and then held a press availability.
